Appalachian Expo

Friday and Saturday, August 13-14, 2021, Asheville, NC

Visit our Expo for one-stop wholesale and retail shopping for the best our region offers: from groceries to garments, herbs to handmade pottery, furniture to fancy foods, laundry supplies to lollipops!

We seek makers and growers who value ecological sustainability and community resilience. We also strive to support small family businesses, especially homestead farms. Together they offer thousands of unique regional products to browse and buy.

After the past year of pandemic crisis, doesn't it sound like a good idea to organize shorter, sustainable, resilient, regional supply chains?

So let's do it! Come see what regional growers and makers have to offer. Try out their goods, make connections, support a hardy regional economy, and stay supplied with exceptional local wares year-round.

Here's how we choose which vendors to accept:

When evaluating "sustainability," we first consider ecological sustainability, but also give credit for human factors such as sustaining a family farm and fostering community resilience.

We favor makers who use supplies or ingredients grown in the region.

We favor vendors whose representative at the expo is directly involved in making the products offered for sale. Please specify this on your application.

Product mix. We're aiming for a diverse array of products, especially shelf-stable goods. If you're in a category for which we get a LOT of applications, we might ask to wait-list you until we add vendors to other categories.

Geographical diversity. We expect to have more vendors from near our western NC expo location, but aim to include makers from the entire region.

Space is limited and acceptance is entirely at our discretion. Makers who meet our eligibility requirements but are turned down are welcome to apply next year.
